Understanding All India Quota Seats
- There are three different types of seats available in all the medical colleges across the country. There is an all India quota of 15 percent in government medical colleges in the country.
- Students from any part of the country can apply for 15% seats. For example, suppose a government medical college in state A has a total of 100 seats. Out of these 100,
- 15 seats will be reserved for All India Quota. These seats are then divided into reserved and general category.
- Of these, 15 percent seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Castes.
- 7.5% for ST or ST candidates and others
- 27% for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates.
